| Welcome to the second official Naruto Way of the Ninja v2.0 Guide! If at this moment you have no idea what to do, then hopefully by the end, your question will be answered.
First step into the site: registering
Easy for some, confusing for others. You've just arrived, probably from a link sent to you by a friend, a stranger, or you just stumbled upon this site by accident. I'll make this clear here and now: THIS IS NOT A GRAPHICAL GAME! This means that you will not see many animations or pictures aside from signatures, avatars and maybe the occasional post. This is a written game, which is played out with posting on the forums (yes, obvious to most, but some think there's a way of "Playing" that they can't see).
If you've known the above, and want to register, then its pretty simple:
There's the banner for 'Naruto's Way of the Ninja' Forum. Below that, there's the squashed text stating 'Register'. Click it.

You've seen this before. You can post this, you can't post that. Many of you just scroll to the bottom and agree. However, its best that you give it a skim read to get a few of the words into your head before choosing the option that applies to you. Remember: break these rules and you'll be IP banned pretty quick. If you have "Conveniently mischievous younger brothers" (funny that its never a sister or an older brother) then have the sense not to select 'auto-login' in the future.

The next part is straightforward again. Simply type in your username (remember that you can't change it later on and if you need to, you'll have to PM an admin and we all know that'll be a drag), email address (must be valid), password (secret only to you), gender and date of birth (if your internet-security-scared feel free to lie about your age, though it doesn't really matter).

Customization
So the accounts been verified and you've logged in for the first time. And of course, you've recognized that you have no avatar, signature nor other bits attached to your profile as others may have. So before you do much, you might want to do this first (or leave it for later, your call).
Again, at the top, near the banner, right next to the registration button you've pressed theres the 'Profile' button. Guess what? Click it.

Welcome to your profile-customizer. You should be at the profile information. From here you can change your username (it has to match your character's name, so if you haven't thought up of one yet, haven't read the rules and therefore didn't know (shame on you :roll) or kill off your character (though surely not at the start) well, sorry to say that you can't change it by yourself as only admins can change them now to prevent the common name-character changing). Feel free to type in your (often ambiguous or imaginative) location and other details.
While here, note at the very top there are the Preferences, Signature, Avatar and Topics Watched options. It doesn't take much intelligence to determine what each of these do.

Character
Simple and easy for some. The worst part for others. Character creation is one of the most important things you'll do here. Simply put: you'll need to be this character whenever posting in RP topics. So scroll down to the 'Creation' board and select 'Character Creation' (jutsus, clans etc. can be done later).

[FUTURE EDIT: A few people have made characters and then decided they didn't like them. To avoid this, do exactly as I say, and draft up your character IN NOTEPAD (or similar) FOR AROUND A DAY. This reduces complications later on, as its difficult recreating a character.]
The next part is easy, but leads to something more complicated. Click the 'Character Template' topic found at the top of the forum. You see all the information with blank spaces next to it? Copy it. Right now, its advisable to paste it into notepad, word pad, word, open office (etc.) for you to work on. In most situations, you'll have to think for a while to creating your character. Remember to follow all the rules and guides strictly and to put in as much detail as you can.

Once you've done (or ignored  ) the previous paragraph, go back to the 'Character Creation' section (or press back ) and select the 'New Topic' option. Now copy and paste your character details from your text-program (notepad and so forth) or write it all up.

Prepare yourself for a wait. Depending on the village you chose and the kage's activity (at the time of this writing, only kages of the village that you want to join can approve your characters although, some admins tend to approve characters when they feel like it) your character will be approved or asked to be modified. Once you've done this, you can now play around with jutsus, clan etc. similarly to how you've made your character. Now with that all out of the way (and your posts gathered together in the 'Profile' section), scroll to the very top and select 'Groups' (next to the registration, profile and log-in buttons).

You'll be wanting to join a village now. Select the 'Group' (village) that you want to join and view information.

There is the current roster of the village (Konoha for this demonstration). The Kage is under the 'Group Moderator' section. Here we see that the Hokage is 'Hyuuga Yuui'. Select 'Join Group' to proceed. You'll have to wait again (on average a day). If you haven't been accepted then send a friendly, prompting, Private Message to the Kage, explaining that you need to be accepted into the group - don't send 50 PMs, don't slut into their face, don't scream on the chat or forum that your not in the group yet. Just wait.

Now your finally in a group, your able to post role-plays in all the sections and view the Kage's office. This lets you view team lineups and missions which are kept secret from the other villages. Enjoy your stay at 'Naruto's Way of the Ninja'.
